If you’re new to my blog, I’m tattooed. If you’ve been here before, I’ve got some juicy deets for you. It’s basically the coconut oil of the tattoo world and you don’t even need tattoos to benefit from it…
When I was sent a sample of Tattoo Addict Natural Beeswax Aftercare, I was a little apprehensive. I’ve used natural products in the past that caused a nasty reaction with my eczema, so I was a touch nervous. I sat with the little tube of the aftercare goodness for ages before I even removed the little silver sticker that keeps everything in.
I know, I’m lame.
Something that any self-respecting girl knows is that Matte lipstick will dry out your lips like crazy (except for L.A. Girl, but that’s a story for a different day). I really don’t like using lip balm anymore. It’s a conspiracy, I tell you… these fancy pants lip balms that you find in shops really dry out your lips even more. I was desperate for moisture and relief, so I opened the Tattoo Addict aftercare.
It was wonderful.
My lips were instantly soothed and felt amazing and the best part was that I didn’t need to reapply it over and over and over again. That was my favourite part of it all. But, that’s not all… I got my fiance to try it as well. He had a touch of razor burn, so I suggested he give it a try, I mean it is designed to soothe fresh tattoos.
Needless to say, it worked. I just didn’t get a picture of it because I’ve only just gotten a fancy new phone with a camera that makes me giddy.
I then went to Cape Town for the Dusty Rebels and the Bombshells festival and participated in the Miss Bombshell Betty pageant. While I did layer the sunscreen on thick, I missed a spot and got sunburn… on my forehead. Guys, I’m fair… that red splotch shows up like a sore thumb. So, I tried the Tattoo Addict aftercare on that too… none of the usual stinging or peeling at all. This is something of legends for an Irish/German fair skinned South African.
If sunstroke wasn’t enough, I also brought back an awful head cold, my nose didn’t stop running for 5 solid days. It was horrible. I don’t know about you, but my nose gets pretty damn raw when I keep blowing and wiping it. It hurts and in serious cases (like mine), it can cause scabbing inside your nose. On the inside… it is the worst!
Yes, I absolutely used Tattoo Addict aftercare on that too. I’m still applying it to my grossy scabbed nostril and it is definitely helping. I’ve recently started applying the salve to my feet, my eczema is pretty bad when it’s warmer or I stress. And I’ve done a sufficient amount of both lately.
I’ve yet to try it on tattoos though, but it is my birthday on the 28th of November, so I’m hoping that my tattoo artist fiance gifts me with completing my sleeve. I mean, it’s only been two years of nagging.
Until next time.
